Gold vermeil (say “ver-may”) has a legal meaning in the US. Under the FTC Jewelry Guides, it has to be sterling silver underneath, with a layer of gold at least 2.5 microns thick. Plated jewelry has no minimum at all, which is why it can turn coppery in a few weeks.
Every piece here meets that standard: 925 sterling silver with at least 2.5 microns of gold. It costs more than plated and far less than solid gold, and with normal care it is made for everyday wear.
