A huggie is a small hoop that sits close to the lobe, usually 10 to 14 mm across. It is the earring you put in on Monday and only notice again on Friday, when someone says they like it.
Ours is a 12 mm hinged huggie in gold vermeil over 925 sterling silver, finished with a 6–7 mm cultured freshwater pearl. The pearl hangs just below the lobe, so it moves without swinging.
